The hotel did not have my booking confirmation. I called hotelsbyday and they emailed them the confirmation. There was a planned power outage at my house so I had my dog with me. They said it would be an extra $50 charge. However, they said their credit card machine was down so they asked to hold my license for the time being. The hotel looked nothing like the photos. There were bars on the windows. The carpet in the room had many stains. I grabbed a hand towel to dry my hands after washing them and it clearly had something crusty on it. The sheets were not clean. I always check them for bed bugs. Luckily there were none of those. Despite all the red flags, I choose to stay since I was just there to work for a few hours. They said they’d call my room once they were done with my license. They never called. I went to check out and someone else was working the front desk and couldn’t find my license. After searching everywhere they finally found it. I left and then they followed me to the parking lot, attempting to collect the pet fee. I expressed how I thought it should be comp’d for my troubles which essentially turned into a disagreement. This hotel was not very competent. I would mark this as another experience in which booking through the hotel directly is typically the better option.

Would have been perfect. The room was nice, quiet. Perfect for sleeping. Only thing is for whatever reason there’s a delay between when i pay hotels by day and when the actual hotel receives the payment, which had me sitting in the lobby a bit too long while it was being sorted out.
