Las Vegas is one of the world’s best-known tourist cities, famous for the glitz and glamour of its casinos, live shows and vibrant nightlife. It can be hard to choose from the dazzling array of attractions available, so if you’re there for a daycation why not consult our concise guide to the pick of the bunch?

Your Las Vegas Day Stay Guide

  • Food – As a major tourist destination, Las Vegas plays host to a large number of top notch restaurants to suit every appetite. Culinary styles from around the world can be found, with Cajun cuisine at Lola’s, Japanese food at Raku, and Weera Thai offering Thai delights. Amongst the best vegan restaurants is VegeNation, but there are plenty more from which to choose.
  • Casinos – Perhaps Las Vegas’ most famous distraction is its large number of casinos. The Golden Gate Hotel and Casino is one of many, and has been running for over a century. There are dozens more from which to choose, and many games to play, from blackjack to poker, roulette to craps. There’s nowhere better to throw the dice and see if Lady Luck’s smiling at you.
  • Live Performances – The Smith Center for the Performing Arts is a recently opened art deco concert hall, which includes a 1920s style jazz club and hosts ballet, opera, and orchestral performances. If laughter’s the order of the day, you’re in luck: Las Vegas has dozens of clubs and theaters dedicated to comedy.
  • Museums – Get hands on with history at The Mob Museum, which features interactive exhibits about the history of organized crime. Perhaps fittingly, it’s located in a former courthouse. Las Vegas Natural History Museum is ideal for those interested in the natural world. The museum houses historical artifacts in a family-friendly venue that includes interactive exhibits.
