This past year has brought a lot of changes to HotelsByDay, and we wanted to reflect those changes in our blogging. Sure we are still your top tier provider of daystays and hourly hotels, but this year we became something more. We added a more personal touch to our blog with stories, interviews, and hey even travel dating advice. This week stick around to see all the beauty of Marco Island, FL.
There are few activities that I don’t really see myself doing while spending my winter break in Marco Island. Fishing is definitely one of them. However, my boyfriend was so excited to take me out on the boat with him, so I at least had to give it a shot. He is the reason I’m down here after all.
So after a fairly easy drive down here from my grandparents, I was welcomed with open arms to the beautiful island. After a few hellos, we did some quick boat preparation. Here I found out that Ethan purchased a children’s fishing pole for me. Let’s just say it only made me slightly saltier than the sea.
It was time to head out to open waters. I started to get a little nervous. Not because I hate being in the ocean. No this is something far more embarrassing. I’m terrified of fish. I know it sounds crazy, but I had a bad moment in the Great Barrier Reef. So there I sat, on a boat heading out to actively participate in an activity involving my least favor thing.
Much to my surprise, I had an amazing time! The weather was gorgeous, and I even caught the first fish of the day. But lets not talk about how it was the only one I caught all day while Ethan nabbed eight. I’m happier that I got to read my book about Non-randomness on Wall Street, and definitely got a nice tan going. The view coming back was spectacular, and the trip was definitely worth it.
Following that, we had a delicious dinner at Nacho Mama’s on the other side of the island. It was utterly delicious, and the margaritas were definitely top notch! All in all, I can’t wait to see what other adventures Marco Island has in store for me!
