Explore Paris in a new light during the city’s annual Nuit Blanche. During this nighttime event, artists display their works throughout spots around the city and the metros stay open all night allowing you to experience the city in new ways. Skip the tourist traps and join the locals in Paris during the weekend of October 7 for this event and an off the beaten path stay in Paris. Book a day stay and head to these spots during the day before making your way through Paris’ Nuit Blanche event.
Judy
Start your day in Paris off with some quality food. Judy is a lovely little gluten-free cafe located near Jardin du Luxembourg. Here, you can fuel yourself with cold pressed juices, smoothies and quality oatmeal and acai-based dishes before going out into the city.
Parc des Buttes Chaumont
Skip the famous Jardin du Luxembourg and Jardin des Tuileries. Instead, work your way through the 19th arrondissement’s Parc des Buttes Chaumont. It’s essentially Paris’ version of Central Park with large, wide open spaces, beautiful arches, bridges and gazebos abounding. If you’re looking for an escape from city life, this is the place to get it. But, be prepared to walk uphill while visiting this park.
Le Crocodile
After a day of wandering around the city, grab a specialty cocktail or glass of wine at the well-loved bar, Le Crocodile. Each drink you order here will come with a gummy crocodile. C’est mignon. You’ll find this gem of a drinking spot in Paris’ Latin Quarter. After a quick drink, make your way out into the city to celebrate art and do some more exploring at Nuit Blanche. Enjoy!
Le Marais
Experience medieval Paris by wandering along the streets of Le Marais. The district is chockful of medieval architecture and historic buildings. It was also one of the most famous Jewish neighborhoods in the city. The streets are much smaller and curvier than the wide boulevards that make the city famous. Admire the quainter and quieter side of the city while soaking in the history.
