Nicknamed as the “D-town” or “Big-D,” the city of Dallas is truly big in many aspects. As one of the major cities of Texas State with high population, numerous oil reserves, great economic strength and picturesque landscape, Dallas is frequently visited by tourists. Unlike other states along the east and the west coast, Texas State does not rank much in its natural beauty. It is known for its desert terrain that stretches into huge acres of plain land. Yet, Dallas has some interesting factors for its visitors that make it worth visiting. One daycation or day stay in Dallas is perfect to visit the famous city. Texas is famously known for its hot dogs, barbeque, burgers and sandwiches that attract people from far and wide. If you are not attracted by the natural look of Dallas, you will be definitely attracted by its food that is delicious in every way.
One day in Dallas
After spending five years in Dallas for college and work in the past, my husband was excited to introduce me to this part of his life. And what better way to explore a city than a day stay. One daycation in Dallas offered us the opportunity to cruise around the city and get a feel of its local spirit. Dallas is a perfect blend between modern development and traditional historic look. One cannot stop wondering about its picturesque skyline and tall skyscrapers that stand for progress and prosperity. Another interesting aspect of this city that never goes unnoticed is its complex web of highways, flyovers and freeways. Driving at 80-90 mph without any worries of traffic was truly one of the best experiences for the Californian resident in me!
Huge crowd and longer waiting time during long weekends can pose as deterrents for a fun-filled vacation. Instead, a day stay can be a perfect way to enjoy the holiday without any chaos and confusion. For a day stay, one can book hotel rooms through HotelsbyDay. As this flexible platform allows you to choose your own check-in and check-out hours, you can be your own boss. It releases you from the clutches of mandatory overnight booking, thus taking care of the financial front too.
Booking a hotel room near the airport or close to downtown can be beneficial in order to save time. Besides, it becomes easier to commute around the city. Planning a daycation needs a thoughtful itinerary to make the most of the time. This is where my husband’s experience was put to good use to plan our Dallas daycation. Instead of exploring just a few well-known tourist spots, it helps to look around for some more hidden magic that the city has to offer.
